နယူးဇီလန္ဟာ ကစားသမားေကာင္း ေပါမ်ားတဲ့ ႏိုင္ငံ ျဖစ္ေပမယ့္ ယခင္က ၾသစေၾတးလ်တို႔ လႊမ္းမိုး ထားမႈေၾကာင့္ သမုဒၵရာပိုင္း ဇုန္မွာ ထင္ေပၚခဲ့ျခင္း မရွိတာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ယခု ၾသစေၾတးလ်က အာရွဇုန္ကို ေရာက္သြားတဲ့ အတြက္ နယူးဇီလန္တို႔ အခြင့္အေရး ရလာခဲ့ ပါတယ္။ ေနာက္တစ္ခ်က္က နယူးဇီလန္မွာ အဆင့္အတန္း ျမင့္တဲ့ ျပည္တြင္းလိဂ္ ၿပိဳင္ပြဲ မရွိတာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ နယူးဇီလန္ လက္ေရြးစင္ ကစားသမား အမ်ားစုဟာ ဥေရာပ ထိပ္တန္းလိဂ္ေတြ၊ အေမရိကန္ ေမဂ်ာလိဂ္နဲ႔ ၾသစေၾတးလ် ေအလိဂ္ တို႔မွာ ကစား ေနၾကတဲ့ သူေတြ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သူတို႔ အသင္းဟာ ၁၉၈၂ မွာ ေျခစစ္ပြဲ တစ္ႀကိမ္ ေအာင္ျမင္ခဲ့ ဖူးၿပီး အဲဒီတုန္းက အုပ္စု အဆင့္ နဲ႔ပဲ ေက်နပ္ခဲ့ ရပါတယ္။ နယူးဇီလန္ အသင္းဟာ သမုဒၵရာပိုင္း ႏိုင္ငံမ်ား ဖလား ၿပိဳင္ပြဲမွာ ၄ ႀကိမ္ ဗိုလ္စြဲခဲ့ဖူးတဲ့ အသင္းလည္း ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

နယူးဇီလန္ အသင္းဟာ သမုဒၵရာပိုင္း ေျခစစ္ပြဲကို ဒုတိယ အဆင့္ကေန စတင္ ပါ၀င္ယွဥ္ၿပိဳင္ ခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ ကမာၻ႕ဖလား ေျခစစ္ပြဲလို႔ သတ္မွတ္ထား ေပမယ့္ တကယ္တမ္းမွာ ဒီၿပိဳင္ပြဲဟာ သမုဒၵရာ ပိုင္းဇုန္ ႏိုင္ငံမ်ား ဖလား ၿပိဳင္ပြဲလည္း ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ နယူးဇီလန္ဟာ ပထမ အဆင့္က ေျခစစ္ပြဲ ေအာင္လာတဲ့ နယူး ကာလီဒိုးနီးယား၊ ဖီဂ်ီ၊ ဗန္ႏူအာတူ ႏိုင္ငံေတြနဲ႔ ကစား ခဲ့ရာမွာ ေရွ႕ဆံုး ၅ ပြဲစလံုး အႏိုင္ကစား ခဲ့ၿပီး ခ်န္ပီယံ (အုပ္စု ပထမ) ျဖစ္သြား တာေၾကာင့္ အမွတ္ မလိုေတာ့ ေနာက္ဆံုး ပြဲမွာသာ ဖီဂ်ီ အသင္းကို ရံႈးနိမ့္ခဲ့တာ ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ အဲဒီေနာက္ နယူးဇီလန္ဟာ အာရွဇုန္က အဆင့္(၅)ရတဲ့ ဘာရိန္းနဲ႔ Play-off ကစားခဲ့ရာမွာ ႏွစ္ေက်ာ့ေပါင္း (၁-၀)ဂိုးနဲ႔ အႏိုင္ရၿပီး ေျခစစ္ပြဲ ေအာင္ခဲ့တာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
